Lilypie 5th Birthday Ticker

Dogwood Hill Gun Dogs is located just north of Westminster, Maryland. The dog pictured in our banner is our own Baron Rudiger V. Stradivarius, JH, NA. On April 12, 2003 Rudi earned his NA title from NAVHDA at only 11 months old. Rudi earned his AKC Junior Hunter (JH) title as of March 20, 2004 (before he turned 2 yrs. old)!  Rudi is well on his way to his MH title and has started racking up his field trial points. Rudi is OFA certified "GOOD" (OFA24G) and has his AKC DNA Certification (AKC DNA #V456945).  He is our kennel stud dog.  Please contact us if you are interested in a breeding at (410) 751-9689 or (703) 926-1072.

Our second GSP is Dogwood Hill's Yogi Bear, JH. We adopted Yogi through GSP Rescue. Yogi has also been professionally trained and is a wonderful gentleman's hunting companion. He has been registered with the AKC and has an ILP number so that we can enter him in AKC events. (ILP #102404) Yogi earned his last two legs for his JH title in March 2005 at the Mason Dixon GSP Club Hunt Test.  He was handled by Aaron Heinle, a Junior Handler.  This proves that you can do anything with a rescue dog! If you have a purebred dog that cannot be registered with the AKC and have a desire to see what your dog can do in real competition, an ILP number is your ticket to the world of AKC events and clubs!

Indefinite Listing Privilege Program (ILP) The program that provides purebred dogs a second chance. Its a program that allows unregistered dogs of registerable breeds to compete in AKC Performance and Companion Events. There are various reasons why a purebred dog might not be eligible for registration. The dog may the product of an unregistered litter, or have unregistered parents. The dog's papers may have been withheld by its breeder or lost by its owner. Sometimes, it is the dog itself that was "lost." There are many dogs enrolled in the ILP program after they have been surrendered or abandoned, then adopted by new owners from animal shelters or purebred rescue groups. The ILP program allows the dog and owner a second chance at discovering the rewards of participating in AKC events.

Our 3rd GSP is Storm's Slick Twister.  We purchased her from Mike Mullineaux and are certain she will be just as good in the field as our other two GSPs.  Check her link out for pictures and her pedigree.  She has already earned 2 points towards her FC title so she is off to a great start!

Spring 2008: We have added two new additions to the family!  We now have two Weimaraner puppies (siblings) we are planning to field trial, hunt test, show and compete in NAVHDA events with.  More information on Peach and Smokey soon to be posted...

Scott is a Lifetime NAVHDA member and also an approved AKC Performance Events Judge (Hunt Tests and Field Trials).  His AKC Judge's Number is: 52143 - You can reach him at (703)926-1072 or (410)751-9689.

We highly recommend Phillip Hayworth at Brigadoon Kennels in North Carolina and Mike Mullineaux of West Wind Kennels in Delaware for exceptional dog training.

We also have provided links to dogs available for adoption on our site. Please consider  helping one of these animals in need of a new home.  Any dogs available for adoption will be fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered and ready to go to their new homes. Links to the National Rescue websites and other gun dog websites are provided in our various links sections.
